I like them much better than wooden dowels. You can use them just the same as the wooden ones, you dont need plates, just the cardboards. Marilyn
(You could use plates too, if they are very heavy)

I found that sticking it to clear contact paper and then cutting the contact paper to the size of the ribon works well. Marilyn

I had my best results by sticking clear contact paper to the back, then cutting it. I didn't have any luck with ironing the waxed paper to wax coat it, it still soaked through.

Thats a good question, I was going to say ice it first , but you would have to be able to put it on it. without it on a board you would not have a choice. Marilyn
