when i think vintage i think roses. Either gumpaste or fresh i don't think you can go wrong.

I put the sticks in before baking.

It really comes down to no right or wrong way it is the way that works for you that makes it right or wrong.

you could try refrigerating/freezing your cut outs before baking should help with the spreading, but of course this is from someone who hasn't made that recipe.

If you have a restaurant supply store nearby that is probably the most reasonably priced place to get large quantities of extracts
