One of our very own, Kelley Masters (kelleym), is part of a team responsible for bringing a great new software product to the Cake Decorating community!
Cake Central is working with Kelley and her team to help bring exposure to their great new product CakeBoss !
Kelley is looking for Beta Testers and naturally is looking to her fellow CC members to be part of the program. She will post more information in this thread about the product and the Beta program !
Heath and I just wanted to make an announcement to let the CC community know we are supportive of this project and that Kelley has our blessing to talk about it here at CC.
We will leave it to Kelley to explain what CakeBoss is all about and how you can get involved.

My husband Jon and I are very excited to let you know about CakeBoss. With this program, you will be able to keep track of your customer data, orders, expenses, run reports, and keep track of appointments with a built-in calendar planner.
We are currently in Beta -- that means that we do have some known bugs, and there are some features that haven't yet been implemented. We would like to offer the Beta version of this program for free to anyone who feels they could benefit from it and would like to be a part of helping us get it ready for release!
We anticipate being ready for release in a few months (my husband is the lead programmer and refuses to be pinned down to an exact date, haha!).

Oh man, this should help me out HUGE, this is where I have problems with the whole cake business. I can make a mean cake but keeping books etc is NOT easy for me. What a great idea!

I've just installed it today, and it seems to be really great. There's a place to fill in for customers and their info--as well as a place on each customer's page for storage (and reminders I think) of SPECIAL DATES for that customer!! Like anniversaries, etc. How cool.
Also--lots of other stuff for us to keep track of in there. I'd suggest trying it, anyway.
I think I'm going to like it!

Congratulations!! I think this is fantastic and how wonderful of you to offer it here. We have a Mac so I can't use your tester but I wish you all the best! Maybe one day you will have a MAc version and I will purchase for sure.

I just downloaded it yesterday and it looks wonderful so far. I am getting ready to add my recipes to it. It's nice that there is a program finally available for our specific type of business. I'm so excited for this program. Just starting out this should be a real help to me.
I signed up for it earlier today. I had to leave my pc for a while, but when I came back, I started my download and it's processing as I type this very message. So excited to use it!

I've been part of the team for a few weeks, and it truly is a great program! Keep up the great work Jon and Kelley! BTW, Jon will even come and remote access your computer to help you install it if you are having problems (although we worked that one out fairly quickly!)! My hubby wasn't so appreciative at 1am though lol!
