well...tomorrow is the "big day!" I have made a giant cake (well, it feels like it, anyway!) and the theme is seashells and starfish. The bride wants me to attach the starfish I have made (using melts) onto the side of the cakes, over the fondant.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to attach these? I plan on waiting until I arrive at the reception location when I assemble the cakes to add the candies. I am worried the buttercream will get too warm and the starfish will fall off...hmmm...any help out there!

royal icing makes great 'glue' Melted chocolate and some freeze spray will also work.

Definitely use melted chocolate. You won't need much and it should dry within a few seconds - especially if the cake is chilled, so you shouldn't need freeze spray. However, if you want to use freeze spray, go to Radio Shack and buy a $5 can of circuit freeze. It's exactly the same stuff the pastry sites sell for $20!
