Can I add something to fondant to make it more like gumpaste?? I have found 2 recipes to make my own gumpaste (b/c I didn't like the Wilton mix I used before) one uses tylose & the other gum tragacenth; what are the differences btwn these products (and what is gum tex)??

I add gum tex to my fondant to make it more like gumpaste. It's fine to use for modeling and 3-d figures.

Yes, you can add tylose to fondant. Add 1 tsp tylose per 1 lb. fondant, and that makes modeling paste. I'm not sure what the difference between tylose and gum tragacanth are, but I think they're very similar. Gum-tex and gum tragacanth are the same thing, I think. Confused Confused
