Sure...ganache would be fine. The chocolate needs something to cling to. Good luck!

I love this....I wanted to do the candle cakes for my mom for Mothers Day but wasn't really sure how to do it...NOW I DO!!!
My husband just asked for a cheesecake for tomorrow so I may practice on it as well.

Have you ever tried this whith a couple of layers, stacked? How does the cake hold up being moved around?
I just went back and saw your picture Jodie F.! Very nice cake!!! I guess my question could be directed towards you then. Any advice? |

Dolphindreamers....The cake was very easy to move around! It was cold and the chocolate was solid! I just picked it up and plopped it down, no issues. You just have to be careful the heat of your hands doesn't melt the chocolate or leave fingerprints! You can wear cotton gloves.

I have a Groom's Cake to do this weekend. It is choc cake, choc filling, choc icing and choc strawberries. And this would be AWESOME to add to it, BUT it's square. Can I do this with a square cake? If so, do you have any tips for me. Also I wouldn't be able to get that acetate. It would have to be parchment paper. |
