borrowed? Please excuse this question if it seems silly, but I'm really new to this... When selling cakes, whether they be wedding, birthday or whatever, do you use your own recipes or borrowed ones? I've seen that some people are using boxed cakes. Is that the norm when selling them? Thanks! |

I always do scratch.
As for the recipe's origins. I have some from cookbooks, some from family and friends and some I found on the net. Most of the recipes though, have been tweaked in one way or another to fit my preferences or to make them work better. |

I also use mostly doctored mixes, although I do have a few scratch cakes that I make and if I am meeting a special dietary need I make cakes from scratch. My recipes are a hodge podge of family recipes, my own and ones that I have found in a cookbook. Even the ones I get from friends, family or cookbooks have usually been tweaked a little to my taste. |

Ditto here. Once you start baking you play around with different recipes until you find the one that works best for you! |
