I have supported my addiction with a $10 donation.... and I'm happy to do so! I'm a lifelong cake person, and as the others say, I learn something new each time I am in here, and while I'm only about 70 posts new, it's the first site I check every single time I log on... So thanks! |

I just wanted to post and add that I agree with several posters here so far:
- I don't really care so much what specifically is done with the "donations" so long as it helps CC continue to exist. Be that it goes to more server space or towards motivating the creators to continue to keep it up. This is a great community.
- I've learned way more here than any one single cake book I have so far. So take that to mean anywhere from the $6 bargain table book to the $60 Toba book... there you have it.
-And lastly, if you had started a cake forum, it grew leaps and bounds, and required so much extra daily attention OUTSIDE your regular job, not to mention cash out of your own pocket ... would you be able to keep it going forever? Physically, mentally and monitarily?
They could charge to join to forums or view the gallery, easily. But then would as many great people join if you had to pay without seeing how great it is? And would it be as great as it is if all you wonderful people didn't join because it cost money upfront? It seems like a bit of a catch -22 to me.
I'm glad I made a donation and will again shortly. |

This is a small price to ask for such a plethora of free information and a network of like-minded friends.
I'm in for $10! |

Heath, and Jackie I too appreciate all that you do and I really appreciate your strong commitment to staying with your vision of keeping this site membership fee free.
I will be sending a check (so all the $$ goes to you, none to bankcard fees) when I pay bills this weekend! |
This is such a good idea when I sell stuff on Ebay and they pay me with paypal they charge me a fee so do credit card companies so instead we whould all mail a check..... .39 beats some of the fees paypal charges
I understand they don't have to let us know what they are doing with the money I just want to know where I can mail a check... I made my two donations so far with paypal and I would like to avoid any fees from their end they have done so much I wouldn't want this site to charge any fees to join but would love to help when I can and I wouldn't want anything to change I am a new memeber!!!!
It's such a great community thanks cake central you can have my money!!!! |

I am a novice to cake decorating, but this site has been so helpful I can't think of a reason not to donate. Cake Central is at the top of my favorites list, you have my support! |

I just made my donation (and was very happy to do so) I don't know if this is possible, but is there a way that we could be told approximately how much was raised? I just think that maybe that would be encouraging to see. I know the donations are anonymous and this is fine but it would just be neat to see how this community has come together. best of luck with everything, you guys do a SPECTACULAR job here |

Fortunately I don't seem to have a problem accessing this site - maybe because it's because I'm doing it when all you good people over there are asleep! |

Might I just say, that without this site I would be completly lost and depressed, this site gives me a reason to keep on baking and creating!!Although I am just starting at this "cake decorating" and my cakes are not perfect, but the saying goes "practice makes perfect" that is exactly what I plan on doing!!!! a great tasting cake is good, but a great tasting cakes is much better if it is easy on your eyes!!!
Good luck with the donations!!!! |

With 89,000+ members how hard would it be for everyone to donate $1 ? Then we wouldn't have to donate again for at least another 5 years!! and then it would still only be a dollar because there would also a lot more members by then...
Simple math friends everyone donate one dollar and keep a great site up and running!
Thanks CC for keeping me glued to my computer for hours on end. oh wait, maybe I shouldn't be saying thanks. |

Heath or other moderators,
quick question..... When you see gallery supporter on someones info., does that mean that they contributed financially to CC? Just wandering because I sent a donation and plan to every month. It wasn't a large one, but every bit helps. I was wandering if there is a certain amount to donate to have that on my info. only because when I see that on others it makes me want to contribute more and it shows how loyal people are and want to help however we can to keep this site running smoothly. I support this site and with all free info and learning we get from here, I think a donation of any size is the least we can do to show appreciation and not take total advantage of the generocity here.
