I couldn't fit a subject line that worked!
I just made peanut butter cookies. So, I have a bowl, paddle, cookie sheets, measuring cup, and spatula that have all had peanut butter on them. Normally, I'd first wash these with a paper towel and dishwashing liquid so I can throw away the initial residue. What should I do next?
I tried looking up articles and found one that said that dishwashing liquid leaves behind more peanutbutter allergins than other cleaning products ... when washing tables.

I was going to say hot soapy water and Dawn dishsoap. I wonder if white vinegar would work though.

Dishwasher for most of the things. As for the cookiesheets the only think i can suggest for next time is lining them with tin foil, so that you can throw away the foil afterwards.

My daughter had a peanut allergy until last summer ... yeah!!! she outgrew it!!!
In saying that, I have a diswasher that has a santizer cycle so if for some reason I had food in the house that was questionable for my dd, I would wash in the sink with hot soapy water then run everything through the dishwasher on a hot cycle then a santizing cycle.
The best thing to do if you are concerned with cross-contamination is to have separate sets of everything ($$$) for using with peanut products only.
hey getfrosted how old was your daughter when she outgrew it??? i am a mom who hopes everyday that my son will outgrown his allergy!!!!

Or parchment paper. the cookies come out prettier when baked on parchment paper.
