I had to travel all the way to Oklahoma to do it but I finally got to do a real wedding cake.  It was an amazing experience and gave me so much confidence. Now I feel I can really do this cake thing. The wedding cake is sour cream almond white cake with french vanilla mousse mixed with blackberry preserves filling. The cowboy hat groom's cake is banana cake with cheesecake mousse filling. The sheet cake it sat on is chocolate cake with cheesecake mousse filling. Just one senior moment when I realized I forgot to put the decorations on the cake  ! Ran around like a nut adding the decorations and barely made it back to the church for the ceremony. The cowboy hat groom's cake is in the gallery. Thanks for looking! |

Awesome cake Vicki. After I made my first wedding cake, I thought I could do anything. I does boost your confidence and then you get the cake bug. All you want to do is bake and decorate, bake and decorate. That's all you think about. That's all you dream about. Then you spend the rest of your time on CC. Welcome. |

Double  they both look fantastic - love the way you carried the striped icing on the wedding cake to the groom's cake |

Thank you all so much for the encouragement and kind words. This cake represented a lot of firsts for me-transporting the gumpaste flowers on the plane, making a cake topper, baking in an electric oven when I have gas at home, working with mmf (I'm gonna get better at it), assembling 3 tiers, repairing damage on site - and all without a beer to steady my nerves!  |
