Rather than having a new thread for each month's donation totals, I have decided to keep one consolidated thread for 2007.
| Code: |
JAN $2217.21 321 donors
FEB $828.00 123 donors
MAR $1279.00 135 donors
APR $482.00 85 donors
MAY $676.83 103 donors
JUN $288.00 53 donors
JUL $369.00 65 donors
AUG $628.00 73 donors
SEP $268.00 60 donors

It is very disappointing to see how much donations have plummeted since January. $1 isn't too much to ask--- come on CCr's, let's get those numbers back up!!! |

If you click on the "Donate" box in the upper right hand corner of every page on cakecentral it takes you to the information page. If you click on any of the donation $ amount links it will take you to a paypal page. In paypal you can set up a credit card or a checking/savings account to pay out of. If you want to send a check I believe Heath and Jackie also will give you an address to send it to, but you will have to contact one of them through PM's (unless the post here to tell you different) |

I too am disappointed to see how much donations keep falling.
I haven't donated every month, but I am making another donation right now. Some months I use the site more then others, sometimes I get in slumps and just don't wanna think about cake... I really want to keep this site free, so I am going to start making a better attempt at donating!
Happy Baking everyone- Katie |

If you would like to donate by check or money order you can find our mailing address under the CONTACT link at the top of the website. |

I realize the point of this site is to have a free site to go to for cake advice and friends, but the amount of donations is falling every month. So, I was thinking, what if some kind of promotion was ran along the lines of.... "for every $1 donated in the month of XXX your name will be entered into a drawing to win a $20 (or whatever) gift certificate to the CC shop"?? I realize that extra donations would be needed to cover the cost of the gift certificate, but maybe it would intice more people to donate?? Just a thought... |

I don't know I make my small donation but I guess the falling donations lead them to take the ads and they are so annoying! especially yhe ones for wigs!!!!I guess it was due to happen, I still enjoy the website and will continue to donate to Cake Central |

what in particular is annoying about the wig ad? We can always take the feedback to any advertiser to improve the ad designs. |

I wondered about those ads myself! I think they are a splendid idea. Especially since the ads are very tasteful and extremely unintrusive. I especially loved the wedding gown ads I couldn't help but take a peek.
I am really disappointed by the level of donations. I remember a few people who were quite concerned about where the money would be spent. If the donations stay at this level I don't think anyone has to worry about Heath tryin to fund a vacation with them (although I would be fine with that because I believe it is the least we could do).
I think more should be done to get the word out to the membership. I have to believe that a lot of people don't know. It took me quite some time to get curious enough to click on the donate button and read about what was going on.
Maybe we can add an optional donate a $1 button to the registration process? |

Just that I can't help but think hair and cake don't mix in the kitchen but I am also not eating when I'm on the computer |

I too am worried about the amount of donations coming in. I think it would be great if we could all save up and all make that special effort to donate and see if we can have another BIG month!! I don't feel like I do my part, but I am saving some from each cake order to add to the months total. |
