quick question..... When you see gallery supporter on someones info., does that mean that they contributed financially to CC? Just wandering because I sent a donation and plan to every month. It wasn't a large one, but every bit helps. I was wandering if there is a certain amount to donate to have that on my info. only because when I see that on others it makes me want to contribute more and it shows how loyal people are and want to help however we can to keep this site running smoothly. I support this site and with all free info and learning we get from here, I think a donation of any size is the least we can do to show appreciation and not take total advantage of the generocity here.

Gallery Supporters is a group of members who sign up to help make sure every photo that is uploaded is commented on. With so many photos being uploaded, it is very easy for some photos to go thru the system without getting any feedback, this group works to make sure that doesn't happen. It is not associated with donations at all. Donations are essentially anonymous. |

How do you get to be a gallery supporter? As much time as I spend looking at these cakes I'd love to give feedback on all of the awesome stuff that's here. |

I have had the idea brewing in my head for awhile and I thought I would share. I would love to see a book series (or possibly mag though that is more involved) come out of CC. There are an indefinite number of titles that could come from cakecentral from small picture books to all out instructional books that stem from the wealth of info here on CC. It would seem like everyone would love to contribute as it could be a means of advertising on a large scale and also it could turn a signifcant profit for CC.
Just a thought. |

I have told sooo many people about this website. Since I'm addicted I don't mind paying a donation. I think I'm paying $5 a month. It's worth every penny with the hlep and ideas you get. What a ganga!!!! |

we do have plans for a first book, we just need to get the servers more stable so we can work on it |

Personally, I hope they get enough to go to Aruba for a week and not think about the servers even once. |
I am trying not to fault people for being cautious about how they spend their money but I am having trouble.
I agree that the administrators have an obligation to disclose what they intend to use the donations for but I think giving an accounting takes things too far. Quite honestly I think they should be able to make enough to quit their day jobs.
I am sure they are doing what they love but it saddens me to think they put in a full weeks work on this site and then go to full time jobs. It just doesn't seem right. $70,000 excessive? I really don't think it is enough. I hope everyone gives $5 that's $350,000 and I still don't think that would be enough.
I truely appreciate the fact that there aren't any pop up advertisements on this site. I also wouldn't like to see a fee cause I don't always have extra in the budget (besides I already have a very expensive hobby ) I think a donation button at checkout is definately the way to go.
I am really touched by your determination to keep the site accessable to all and hold true to your original vision for the site.
I am gonna go buy something to go with my donation right now! |

I was ready to send an email suggesting we each donate the money for our next sold cake to this website. Isn't the profit from one cake worth all the knowledge and support we gain here? How much have members spent on books, video and products they don't use? Is this any different except that we USE this.
Cake Central Rocks!! |
I think this is a splendid idea! I think we should have a bi annual donation drive in addition to all the other stuff.
I also like the idea of a monthly automatic donation option for those who can aford to do it. |

If you want to PM me with your Paypal ID and the date of your donation, I can confirm if we received it or not.
It is possible that you started to donate via our shopping system, but ended up leaving that transaction and going directly through the paypal donation system. This would leave your cart thinking you have a pending order that has not been completed. |
