So I got mine from Lowe's a couple of weeks ago, and it was a LEMON!!!! It doesn't change levels, and it strains when doing meringue. I called KA, and they were awesome, and said they would ship another one, but it still hasn't come. I think I need to call them.

Okay so I got my pink one some weeks ago. Had been using the other I bought from someone selling their Prof. 5 (in which I love!!) until it got in. Well, Lowes never called...I called them. Picked it up and they didn't give me a ticket or something they were supposed to do. I just showed them my receipt, picked up a garage door opener and they put the mixer in my basket and I was out. Now they have called TWICE to tell me that my mixer is in. My husband is like...???? Well, today he said he was going to go and pick it up. LMAO...he's not. Just joking BUT....MY PINK mixer is on the blitz. It won't change gears from stir to 2...it is supposed to change right?? But now I don't know where the dang receipt for it is. ARRRGGGGHHHH...hope I have no issues trying to exchange this thing. And by the way, the Prof. 5 that I got for $100 works GREAT!!! I was a little hurt at little Pinky. Mines gets to wobbling sometimes to when I'm mixing. A lemon...hmmmm, I think so.

Pink Penny is safe at home on my counter! Looks like Luxe42's, but mine must be still kinda shy. She hasn't jumped up and made me a beautiful cake yet...

I am so happy that you all were able to either receive or have backordered this mixer.
I missed out on the whole thing. Didn't see any ads for the KA. from Lowe's.
I've never had a KA, but from reading all the post here, it sounds great.
I did see some online, and was surprised to see that it only has one beater.
Does this mix better than the two beaters?
I recently had to make a wedding cake and used my mixer, but couldn't find the other beater, it worked, but I wasn't happy with it. Guess I'm just too used to the two beaters.

cookiejarprincess2.....yes the one beater (very large) works very well with no problems.
I am sure KA will come through with all the backordered mixers (metallic series). You have to know it takes longer to make those mixers since they use a metal overlay on them and don't paint them. They probably had thousands of orders for this series just because of cake central and figure it will take 6 months to make them all thus telling us 6 months so we are happy if we get it sooner than to say 2 weeks and it takes 2 months. Personally i will wait ...I have my pro6 to use in the meantime...

Amazon has the Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer for $199 with $30 rebate and free shipping right now. The only thing is there are only a few colors for that price. There is a drop down box to see the colors for $199.

I gave up the dream. I gave up my brushed nickel, so hopefully someone else will benefit.
I took the one I originally ordered (metallic chrome) out of the box, and there was no turning back. Once I saw it, I had to experience it. I had to use it. I just had to. Now, I am hooked. No turning back. I was only going to hold onto it until Nick came, but I turned my back on him. I cheated. I threw him away. I ccccc...cacaca...cancan, I just can't say it. Oh, alright, I canceled him. Now, it will never be the same, but I think Met and I will be happy together.

I had a problem with mine too! Mine doesn't change "gears" after speed 6. I called Kitchen Aid on Saturday morning and the UPS'ed me a new one and I got it TODAY (Wednesday). They have FABULOUS customer service. Just give them a call! 1-800-334-6889

Just wanted to thank you for the information on Amazon.
I also emailed Lowe's and asked if this sale had been offered in my area.
I received a call the next day from one of the Newer Lowe's store and was told that they had one that I could have for $170.00 with a $20.00 rebate.
I was going to go look at it, but went on Amazon first. Like you said no shipping, also no sales tax.
I had to leave for an appointment and when I went into the kitchen, saw my Oster kitchen center sitting in the corner.
It was almost asking what did I do to you? I just have a missing beater, through no fault of my own, check online for new beaters.
Welllll I did. (She has been good to me and we have made some really good cakes and icings together), so I am going to just buy two sets of beaters for her and keep her around. I think she has a friendlier look than the KA's.
But to some that did miss out, do go to Amazon, or email Lowe's.

I ordered a blender and it came in only a week late. I think it was more b/c they ended up having to split my order since I had some metalic mixers and a regular one on it, I found out usually the don't ship the order until EVERYTHING is in... thank goodness i didn't have to wait until december for the mixer too!
oh and I am so excited for my mixer now! I picked out brushed nickel for the blender so they match as both will always be out on the counter and I LOVE the color!

Thank you sooooo much. We did find the receipt but I've been so busy, I haven't called yet. I will definitely call them tomorrow. I've been using my Prof 6. Oooooooh and they KEEP calling my husband telling him that my mixer is waiting and I can come pick it up. They keep leaving messages on his cell phone. Left one yesterday by 2 different people. Now I know someone had to account for the one I have....I do remember walking out of the door and the alarm going off, they told me "Oh you're okay". Almost like I stole it huh? Gonna call them tomorrow as well and tell them I have my mixer unless they want to take the pink lemon back and give me that one LOL LOL LOL
