I have been wanting to make cookies and cream filling (never have) and was wondering what is the best recipe to use?? Do you prefer it with white or choc cake? Do the cookies soften or are they crunchy?? Do they end up soggy?? Thanks for the help!!

Lisa,
I use the whipped cream frosting recipe on here and mix in some cookies and it is DELICIOUS !! I have done it on both white and chocolate cake . They were both great !! I did notice the cookies got a little soft in the left over filling the next day but still good. The cake itself had no leftovers !!!

I've taken my basic icing recipe, added a little extra water and then added in crushed oreos. It worked great and I didn't have to worry about keeping it in the fridge or anything.

The cookies did soften up, but it tasted great!! I used this with white and chocolate cake combined.
