Crystal - We may start doing that.. We didn't do that initially because we wanted to encourage non-commerical sites to use our photos. Plus a watermark right in the middle of the picture is somewhat distracting...

By the way, with the whole watermark issue, I noticed on your site that your site mark was at the bottom of the picture and on the stolen one they simply cropped it off. I would definitely recommend putting your logo or watermark across the middle and then they will not be able to get rid of it so easily.

I got a notice that one of my cakes was on their site. I wrote saying to remove the photo ASAP. Also I told them that I recognised loads of the other cakes that belonged to other sites like PinkCakeBox, Bake Me A Cake and The Cake Store from the UK. They did not reply but they did remove the cake at once.
Watermarks can be quite transparent. |

Not only have they stolen people's pictures but I notice several copyrighted items such as Bratz, Barney, Batman. Wonder if they have permission for those. Bet not.
They're awfully proud of their cakes or I don't charge nearly enough.

That's just wrong! If someone comes to me with an idea in mind, I will search and gather pics from all over then show them what I've found, but I would NEVER say, "These are my cakes." I tell them, "Here are some ideas that I may be able to replicate, but it won't look exactly like this".
As far as charging a lot for the cake, they're in Dubai, United Arab Emirates where $1 USD = 3.67040 AED. So that 189.00 AED = 51.4930 USD. |

ok.....you guys keep mentioning waternarks, but none of these cakes have watermarks on them. They have someone's business name typed at the bottom, but a watermark is transparent lettering that can be placed anywhere over the cake without being too distracting. THOSE ar hard to steal and re-use.
So, watermark your cakes....don't just rely on putting it your business name in typed lettering to protect you. |

Hopefully this time next year, a 5 day to Pregresso and Cozumel out of Galveston. Our 7 day at the beginning of this month was just too much fun! |

Yes they are, but this one was started a year ago and the person who responded is new, so she probably didn't know. |
