I saw the Cuisinart 7 quart in a shop window at Christmas time - I drooled so much, I think that I made a mess of their front window glass...  (just like a kid in a candy store!) - it's definitely the one I want!  |

it may be the coolest and newest model on the market, but kitchen aid an american classic. its been around, and it will stay around. Many people (including myself) like to stick with a name brand that has a reputation for excellence. |

While I love Kitchen Aid it just isnt what it used to be. It is still good, but no where near as good as when hobart had their hands on it. Kitchen aid is now using a lot of plastic parts which just doesnt hold up like the olds one do. |

I also have the DeLonghi and it is so nice and has plenty of room for large icing recipes. I have tripled buttercream recipes with this mixer.  |

While I love Kitchen Aid it just isnt what it used to be. It is still good, but no where near as good as when hobart had their hands on it. Kitchen aid is now using a lot of plastic parts which just doesnt hold up like the olds one do. |
I have to agree! I had an old kitchenaid that was wonderful, but too small, so I sold it and bought a 6 quart. I have had problems right and left with it. It just isn't the same quality as the old ones. I need to get a new one for Passover and I don't plan on getting a Kitchenaid this time. As a matter of fact I have been looking at this one, so I'm glad to hear the reviews.

Not that dh will allow me to get it since I just bought my 6 qt KA last year (and love it BTW). I would like overload protection (who knows, mine may have it--I never read manuals)
A couple of questions.
1) Is the splash guard a one piece or two piece?
2) Not understanding the multiple power outlet, what this for & how does it work? |

I agree as well! I have one of the old ones and my mom has been through three "newer" ones and non of them have worked as well as my older one. In fact the one she has now is so loud when it is on you can't even hear yourself think and Kitchenaid said it did not need repaired. I just wish I had one that was bigger so I could make double batches and such. |

I was thrilled to find this post. I have a Wolfgang Puck stand mixer that I've had for 3 or more years. It's been great, but I wanted a new mixer -- additional not replacement. I bought the KA Pro 600 and didn't like it so I took it back and decided to cool my heels. Then I saw the Cuisinart. I would have bought the 7 qt if that had it in the store, but I couldn't wait so I bought the 5.5 qt. I've really only used it about 3 times -- but I love it. |

I'd like to know about the multiple outlets too...I'm assuming the multiple outlet is like having an extension cord so that we can plug other things into it like can opener, hand mixer, air compressor etc? I know the KA has the extension tool option where you can lock in peices of hardware including a 'pasta roller/cutter' part (which I was thinking of buying recently)and so I thought that was a pretty neat feature to the KA ... I've never used any adt'l tools with the KA in all this time tho. ALso my KA's never failed me and I've loved it. I have been using a refurb 6 QT KA for more than 2 years now. But I have to say I WANT this this silver machine. It is definatly a beauty with great features. "Move over bacon!..Here comes something Leeaner!" haha |

according to its' description, the multiple power outlets are to run various optional equipment....and not additional ordinary household type outlets....but more like special ports...

holymoly those are awsome my first time to see them they look like they came from outer space.I will stick with my old faithfulls the kitchenaid..they havent let me down so far...but those do look nice.. |

I have heard many wonderful things about this mixer! I think it's the one Ms. Oprah had on her favorite things for 2007 list as well. I think the timer is a wonderful feature that kitchenaid should look into adding to all of their mixers. I do so love my KA though!! |
