I was wondering what type of frosting you use to decorate dummie cakes?? I want to make some to display at a local business but have never done one before. What is the best frosting to use? Are there any tips or tricks I should know about to do this?

I have read several topics on this. I just did mine the other night for the first time and covered them with saran wrap and iced buttercream over that. They turned out pretty good. It was a little hard with the saran wrap b/c of the creases. But clean up was very easy. Some people said the ice directly on the dummy cake. hth

I cover my dummies with clear packing tape...makes it look nice and smooth and clean up is easy. I use the buttercream dream icing with all my cakes and dummies. HTH!

I dont wrap ... my regular BC icing straight on the dummy. It hardens hard as concrete. When it's time for clean up, I just run a spatula under the icing and it pops right off. Wipe with a damp rag and it's ready to go.
