I really would like to make a different fondant and it calls for glycerin. I cannot seem to find it anywhere! So, does anyone know if I can substitute glycerin for something else? |

You can buy glycerine at the drug store or health food store. Sun Harvest sells 16 oz bottles for $9. You can also buy a 2 oz bottle of wilton brand at Michaels or Hobby Lobby for about $2. |

Good Q, I can't find glycerin here either!
So I could substitute all the glycerin in a fondant recipe for vegetable oil with no ill effects or taste? |

I did go to Michaels and they didn't have any. I live in a very rural area and we don't have a health food store and Rite Aid doesn't carry glycerin...I've been looking everywhere! And for Michaels I have to drive an hour to get there..... |

you can find glycerin in the pharmacy aisle-- skin care products.
Also most recipes list it as optional so you can also try it without and see what you think. |

CORN SYRUP!!
It be used in place of glycerine for anything I have tried, and vice-versa. It's just a tiny bit stickier than glycerine. |
