I have a potential new customer looking for TEENY TINY bite sized cakes ( circular mind you.. ) that I guess would be considered a petit-four. She wants them all to look like tiny little soccer balls. I'm guessing they would have to be covered in poured fondant but I have never even THOUGHT of working with the stuff and I was hoping for some feedback.

Hard to make?
Hard to handle?
on a ball shaped cake?
HOW THE HELL WOULD I GET A BALL THAT SMALL? ( 1 1/2 inch diameter).. and do it quickly?

thanks for input!

You could to cake balls, dip them in white chocolate, then pipe the pattern, but you would need to charge a LOT. making black is a huge pain. You could cut tiny black shapes and stick the the cake balls, again, huge pain.

I would offer cookies or just say NO. she probably doesn't want to pay $5 each.

poured fondant is messy, transparent, and you could not get cake in that shape.

Hi, I don't whether you have decided to do it or not, but thought i would give some links to help you. There is an article on How to make cake balls, in the article section. Here is the link for that.

And here is a link on how to make poured fondant.
