Here's my latest cake. It's my first cake from my wilton course 1.

I opted for a skull and stars instead of a wack rainbow...lol

Tell me what you think!! Very Happy

I used a method my instructor taught me.

You just use the cake icer tip and then you smooth the icing with a spatula. You mist your whole cake with water from a spray bottle and the water repels from the icing so it smooths perfectly. Just use your spatula again to smooth and add water as needed.

Wait . . . you spray the cake with water before icing, or you mist the frosted cake? I'd think that water would make the icing break down.

No you mist the cake after it's iced silly! Laughing

the water will repel off the iced cake and it will smooth easier with the spatula

I just did the piping gel transfer that we would have done with the wack rainbow....but instead i used a picture of a skull...

I found the pic on photobucket and i just drew it way bigger than it was.
